Who can make a referral?
Center for Family Services has contracts with DHR and can take children
from DSS and DJJ. We also will contract with Local Management Boards
and Core Services Agencies for individual placements.
Can I make a referral for a respite placement?
Center for Family Services will provide either one-time or ongoing
respite placements with one of our Treatment Families. The referral
is treated like all other referrals. Please be sure to let the Admissions
Coordinator know that the referral is for respite and the dates
respite is needed for.
Do you place children in emergency situations?
Center for Family Services believes that transitional visits prior
to placement are the ideal way to help a child begin to adjust to
a new foster family. However, there are times when visits may not
be possible. Center for Family Services will work with the placing
agency whenever possible to place youth quickly in emergency situations.
Do you take sibling groups?
Center for Family Services will attempt to keep sibling groups intact
whenever possible.
Do you have families interested in adoption?
Many foster families are also interested in adoption. Center for
Family Services dually licenses its treatment parents for both foster
care and adoption. Therefore we are often able to expedite the adoption
process. Please inform the Admissions Coordinator if you are looking
for a pre-adoptive home.
