B-CARS TREATMENT FOSTER CARE
B-CARS Treatment Foster Care (TFC) is a collaborative
effort between Villa Maria's
B-CARS (Baltimore - Child and Adolescent Response System) and CFS
(Center for Family Services) Treatment Foster Care Programs. B-CARS
TFC provides services to children and adolescents in psychiatric
crisis within a foster care setting. The foster family is trained
and certified through CFS. B-CARS and CFS staff work together to
maintain psychiatric intervention services with the child, birth
family and foster family.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
CFS foster parents are highly regarded and
committed to serving the children
and families of Maryland. All CFS parents maintain on-going training
requirements according to state regulations, COA Accreditation standards,
and agency policy.
If you are interested in becoming a B-CARS
TFC family, the Center for Family Services provides certification
services for prospective foster parents.
This process involves prospective
parents attending an informational meeting, comprehensive pre-service,
behavior management and CPR training. The cost of the home study
interview process, health and fire inspections, Child Protective
Services, MD and FBI criminal background clearances are paid for
by CFS. Complete Physicals and Tuberculosis screening for all household
members are also required.
Prospective families must reside in or near Baltimore City, and
be committed to working with children, their families and a professional
team. Likewise, families must have a
stay-at-home parent.
If interested, please call Nicole Wade at 410-685-2363. Thank
you for your time and support.
