Programs for ParishesLooking for ways to GROW your social justice ministry? For opportunities for retreat days? Educational sessions on social justice? Advocacy? We’re here to help! We are happy to discuss with you your parish’s needs and possibilities. We can consult with the pastor and staff, appropriate committee members, and/or the pastoral council. These conversations may result in a program(s) offered in the parish that meets the particular needs of your social ministry. We encourage parishes to develop their social ministry to include both charity and justice rooted and grounded in the spiritual growth and development of their members. We offer workshops, retreat days and educational sessions on a wide variety of social concerns topics for adults, young adults and youth. Whether “ready-made or tailor-made” we can design them to fit your parish. Contact: ProgramsThese are examples of programs we have and do offer. Legislative Education Group (L.E.G.) Issue BriefingCatholic Charities L.E.G. offers an issue briefing just prior to the start of the Maryland General Assembly. It is an opportunity to hear about which issues are likely to arise during the state session that are important to vulnerable Marylanders. Because the Maryland General Assembly meets from January to April, most L.E.G. activities occur during that timeframe. JustFaith MinistriesJustFaith Ministries develops and offers workshops and programs that empower people and expand commitment to social ministry within faith communities. Seniors Involved ProgramsSince the late 1970’s, Catholic Charities has been helping to form and assist senior clubs in a number of Catholic parishes in and around Baltimore City. This network of clubs continues to sponsor three annual events. The Spring Fling is a social opportunity - a luncheon with entertainment, craft sales and prizes - held in early May at an east Baltimore location convenient to I-695. The Day of Recollection includes inspiring talks by a retreat director and Mass. Visit with friends old and new over a tasty box lunch as well!
